Volunteer Recruitment Restarts

We are delighted to share we have re-started recruiting and training new volunteer mentors.  Due to Covid-19, we placed our recruitment on hold back in March as we were unable to deliver our mentoring service in the prisons we operate in.  However, we have been adapting our mentoring service and are focused on developing and delivering our service in the community.  Our Project Managers have been engaging with young men who have a few weeks left of their sentence and would like a mentor to support them on release from prison and in the community.  The demand for this service is growing and has enabled up to re-start recruiting and training new mentors.  Our community mentoring service is largely focused on providing remote mentoring support between mentors and mentees, with face to face meetings taking place when needed (and permitted within the current local restrictions).

We are currently training a new group of volunteers for our new Brixton mentoring service and our Brinsford project is currently recruiting for new mentors.  We anticipate further recruitment will take place in the New Year for our other London based service, HMP Isis.

We are very much still committed to providing a full prison mentoring service which we were doing prior to Covid-19 and we are working in conjunction with the prisons to resume this, when it is assessed as being safe to do so.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer mentor, please complete the short form on our web site which you can find at ‘Become a Mentor’.
