We would like to wish all our volunteers and supporters a very Merry Christmas from the Trailblazers team.  We are proud of everything the organisation has achieved in a very challenging year and thank everyone involved in helping the organisation to continue to offer important services to the young men in the prisons we operate in.

Due to the restrictions placed on the prisons due to Covid-19, we needed to adapt our services provision and as a result we developed greater focus on ‘through the gate’ and community mentoring support this year.  Part of this included the provision of release support packs for the men (eg basic mobile phone, food voucher and antibacterial products/PPE).

A special thank you goes to our amazing team of volunteers who have continued to support their mentees and adjust to the challenges of providing largely remote mentoring support – we would not be able to provide any services without our volunteers who generously give up their time and are so committed to mentoring the young men.

We have also seen the Trailblazers staff team grow with the addition of three new posts, a new Project started in HMP Brixton and volunteer recruitment and training have restarted.  This year has seen greater focus on partnerships and links with community organisations, with pilot partnerships taking place with National Grid and Deloitte.  It is an exciting time for the organisation and we have great ambitions and plans for 2021.
